Eligibility
Anyone can take the courses.
However, Atelier Soleil’s original courses are designed for those who already have basic pastel art skills.
(For example, equivalent to completion of the Japan Pastel Hope Art Association Instructor Training Course and experience in Flower of Crystal Art)
Therefore, I cannot answer questions about tools or basic techniques.
Arrangement
Atelier Soleil original designs can be freely arranged and collaborated with, as long as they are for your own enjoyment.
I hope you enjoy experimenting with colors, layouts, and other aspects of the designs.
However, if you wish to collaborate with designs created by others, please obtain permission from the original creator.
The techniques I use in my corses can also be used in other art forms.
Atelier Soleil original stencils may also be used in other artworks, but creating your own original course using the original stencils is prohibited.
Additionally, creating your own original course using arrangements of Atelier Soleil original courses is also prohibited.
(Previously, I received a question from a student asking if it would be possible to create a new Romantic Castle series course by replacing Cinderella with another princess in the Romantic Castle series’ “Cinderella and the Glass Shoe”, so I have implemented this policy.)
Lessons and Workshops
Conditions for opening classes
Those who are eligible to offer lessons and workshops are as follows.
- Those who have purchased textbook or video courses from Yuika
- Those who have taken lessons from Yuika
- Those who have taken lessons from other instructors
Those who only participated in the workshop will not be able to open a class.
If workshop participants wish to open a course or workshop, please take a video course or lesson.
If you are taking lessons from Yuika or other instructors, please purchase the textbook or video.
This is because I want you to learn the original drawing methods and designs, and because it is easy to forget how to draw after some time has passed since taking the lessons.
Click here for the application form.
* I may offer advice on the artwork images submitted via the application form.
Incidentally, I personally believe that a certain level of skill, experience, and talent is necessary in order to teach others.
Of course, skill and experience are necessary in order to explain things to others, but…
What is “talent”?
Please take this as my personal opinion, but the point is that “an excellent athlete does not necessarily make an excellent coach or trainer.”
The important thing is how accurately the original design can be reproduced.
*As a prerequisite, I assume that you have the necessary skills and techniques for drawing.
Pastel art values the idea that “we are all unique in our own ways, and that’s what makes us special.”
However, I do not think it is good to draw works that are too different from the original design.
The purpose of pastel art lessons is not only to learn techniques and methods, but also to learn about design itself.
Those who took lessons directly from the creator added their own individuality to the work, and those who took lessons from those students added even more individuality…
As a result of this repetition, there were cases where something completely different from the original spread.
This applies not only to arrangements but also to each individual’s personality, artistic style, and creative approach.
If your style differs from the creator’s, you may need to suppress your own preferences and personality.
I believe that the ability to do this is a very important talent when teaching others.
Another important point is that if it is your own original design, you naturally understand the following points.
- The thoughts behind the design
- The non-negotiable points of emphasis
- The reason for the order in which it is drawn
and so on.
However, when it comes to others’ designs, you must be able to discern those invisible elements.
To accurately reproduce an original design and convey it to students, these two talents are indispensable.
(Since I lack these two talents, I rarely teach others’ designs.)
I’d be grateful if you could just take it as one perspective among many.

Incidentally, I believe this goes without saying…

I have received inquiries about this in the past, and there have been cases where images have been used in course menus, so I am making this clear.

Textbook and Video
The purchased textbooks and videos are for your personal use only to check the drawing procedures.
Publication, resale, copying, or reprinting of part or all of the content is prohibited.
In addition, the creation of textbooks and videos of Atelier Soleil original courses is also prohibited.
Cancellation Policy
No refunds will be given after payment has been made.
I generally do not accept changes to courses after you have applied for a lesson.
If you applied for a one-on-one lesson, changes may sometimes be possible, so please consult with me.
If you cancel a lesson, I will generally change it to a textbook or video course.
However, if the same lesson is scheduled to be held at the time of cancellation, it can be rescheduled to that lesson.
If you are unable to attend at the start time of the lesson, it will be treated as a cancellation as it may cause inconvenience to other students.
I appreciate your understanding.
In addition, any special requests for each course are listed in the textbook.
Please check the textbook.
I ask for your understanding and cooperation so as not to cause misunderstandings or inconvenience to other instructors and students.
I hope that everyone can enjoy pastel art in a pleasant atmosphere.
*If you do not comply with the rules listed on this page, I may refuse to allow you to take future Atelier Soleil original courses or hold lessons or workshops of Atelier Soleil original courses.
Thank you for your understanding.
